Current information regarding coronavirus can be found on our dedicated page, read Coronavirus Updates
The villages of Hintlesham and Chattisham are located a few miles west of Ipswich, in the district of Babergh, Suffolk
Whilst separated by a few fields, we are linked in almost every other way, sharing amongst other things a school, community hall and parish council. There is a strong community spirit within the villages, evident in our two churches, pub and many clubs and organisations, details of which can be found on this website.
Our Community Council manages the community’s assets on behalf of the village including the Community Hall, two playing fields, a MUGA (multi-use games area) and a large expanse of woodland adjacent to the hall. These facilities are regularly used by the village’s clubs and organisations in addition to a wide array of activities and events for residents and visitors. News at 11/04/20: Parish Council “Virtual” Meetings
Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic the Parish Council is unable to meet in person at present.
To overcome this and ensure that where practical the PC can continue its usual duties, including matters such as considering any upcoming planning applications the Council has made arrangements to hold “Virtual” meetings using the Zoom video conferencing platform. Details of the meetings will be published on this website in the Parish Council Section.
Members of the public are welcome to join in via Zoom using the ID references published on the agenda’s which will be posted both on the website and the village notice boards.
As these meetings are time limited, members of the public are reminded that any contribution that they may wish to make is limited to three minutes. Alternatively if they wish to have an issue discussed they can of course do so via one of their councillors ( contact details are in the village directory) who can raise it for them at the next meeting.
