We are a group of ladies, nearly 30 in number, (and sometimes gentlemen are invited too), who hold monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of the month in the Community Hall Meeting Room at 7.30pm.
On the majority of evenings we invite a speaker on serious and sometimes not-so-serious topics, followed by a cup of coffee or tea and some general chit-chat. Our speakers have included a member of the Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service with his rescue dog, Darcy, the Governor of Hollesley Bay Prison and a talk on the history of inn signs. We have also had a beauty demonstration and an evening making Christmas cards and decorations.
We had several outings last year, too, to local places of interest and theatres, and several very enjoyable lunches and dinners. Recent speakers have covered subjects including Nepal, the history of the Ipswich Hippodrome and Confessions of a Travelling Preacher amongst others.
The Club is open to ladies of all ages and anyone who is considering joining will be very welcome. This year's subscription remains the same as last year, £14. However we do also charge a nominal visitor's fee for those who would like to come along for a "taster" session.
Details of planned events can be found in The Link. If you are interested in joining, please ring (01473) 652217.
