For your information, we (Suffolk Highways) are planning to carry out surface dressing works along A1071 Sproughton, Burstall and Hintlesham, as detailed below. The works are programmed to take place between 27 and 31 July 2020. This will require a temporary overnight road closure from 7pm to 7am each night, to ensure that we can carry out our works safely. Traffic cones may also be placed to prevent on-street parking, so our work site is unobstructed.
- A1071 Hadleigh Road Sproughton - from B1113 to Hadleigh Road, Burstall
- A1071 Hadleigh Road Burstall – entire length
- A1071 Thorpes Hill, Hintlesham – entire length
- A1071 Silver Hill, Hintlesham – entire length
For the duration of the road closure, traffic will be diverted via A1071, A1214, A12, Cuckoo Farm way, Via Urbis Romanae, A134, A1071 and vice-versa
As we plan roadworks in advance, we schedule extra days to allow for bad weather or other delays beyond our control. If we need to make major changes to our work dates, we will update the information signs on site.
A plan showing the diversion route for these works is attached. When we close the road and put a diversion in place, the route needs to be accessible to vehicles of all shapes and sizes. We make our diversions as clear as possible by placing appropriate signing along the route. The latest updates on our works can be found on our website at"Temporary road closures for Suffolk Highways roadworks” and on One.Network website.
There may be times that essential emergency works are required to take place on the highway network without advanced notice – you can follow Suffolk Highways on Twitter for the latest emergency roadwork updates.
